Tamiami Branch Library Interior and Exterior Views

New Tamiami Branch Library Location is Now Open!

We are excited to let you know that the new Tamiami Branch Library location is now open to the public!  We invite you to visit us at its new home located at 12700 SW 8 Street on the ground floor of the Gran Via apartment building.  Service hours are Monday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The new branch features a collection of books, DVDs, periodicals and audiobooks in English and Spanish and several other amenities, including:

  • New public computers, laptops and tablets
  • Hi-speed Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Charging stations for electronic devices
  • Children’s space with a storytime/programming area
  • Adult and young adult area with space for programs and events

We look forward to serving you at our new branch!

Need access to a mobile device and the internet? Our new Tablet Lending Program can help! Check out an Android tablet with built-in wireless internet access and Wi-Fi capability that you can take home and use for 30 days – free with your library card!

You can use your tablet for work, school and personal browsing, plus enjoy popular preloaded apps, including social media and meeting apps and Library apps to access online learning, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, and more.

Tablets are available at all our library locations and come with a keyboard case, power adapter and USB cables.  You can check availability at your local branch by searching the library catalog or calling the branch.
