National Poetry Month wraps up at Main Library with the inaugural Mayoral Poetry Commendation
On April 29, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava celebrated the final week of National Poetry Month at Main Library with the inaugural Miami-Dade Mayoral Poetry Commendation, a special recognition that will be presented annually each April to poets or organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to the literary arts.
Among the first to be presented with this commendation was our very own Library Exhibitions and Programming Specialist Oscar Fuentes (aka “The Biscayne Poet"), along with our community partners at O, Miami, a local community arts institution that has been bringing poetry to the people of Miami for the past decade.
Congratulations, Oscar and O, Miami!
