Hialeah Gardens Branch Library is Moving to a NEW location!

We're pleased to announce that our brand new Hialeah Gardens Branch Library will open to the public on Thursday, February 11 at 2 p.m. The state-of-the-art library, located at 13451 NW 107 Avenue, Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018, in the Westland Gardens Park complex, will replace the current storefront location, which will close its doors on Wednesday, February 10 at 8 p.m.

The new branch offers several amenities, including:

  • YOUmedia Miami studio for audio and video content creation
  • Hi-speed Wi-Fi connectivity both inside and outside the branch
  • Outdoor patio with movie and sound wall
  • Latest computers and laptops
  • Collaboration areas, auditorium and meeting spaces

We look forward to serving you at your new branch library!

African American Poetry - Writing Workshop

Want to write poetry, but don’t know how? Join us and get inspired using Maya Angelou’s humorous poem about food called The Health-Food Diner. In it, she contrasts vegetables and proteins, focusing on the sounds of words and the precise imagery they create. It is a buffet for the senses and the mind that can inspire great work. Only paper and a pen or pencil are needed. Space is limited. Ages 14 years and up.

My Portrait Puzzle

Join us as we explore a technique combining storytelling with art to create a series of self-portraits in the style artist Faith Ringgold made famous. Students will create alternative selfies using a traditional grid technique inspired by her narrative quilts, including Whose Afraid of Aunt Jemima?, that encourage self-investigation and reflection. Space is limited.
