Construction of Library's Westchester Health and Wellness Information Center Now Underway
The Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Westchester Health and Wellness Information Center is now under construction adjacent to the Westchester Regional Library. Once completed, the 3,800-square-foot center will be free and open to the public and serve as a premier place where patrons can access and receive guidance on health information, and tap resources and programs including lectures and seminars on topics such as preventive care, exercise, nutrition, overall wellness and more. Staffed by librarians, it will also have learning materials designed for nurses and others in the medical profession.
The project is being funded by the Miami-Dade County Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program and is expected to open to the public in the fall of 2021.
