FHP: Final Push to Victory in 2023 America's Best Looking Cruiser Contest
~Every vote is needed as voting numbers will not be updated again until polls close, Monday July 31st at noon~
 TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-On Monday, July 31, at noon, the polls close on the 2023 American Association of State Troopers (AAST) ‘Best Looking Cruiser Competition.’ The last number update came at 4 p.m. today and showed FHP behind Nevada State Police by 129 votes; closely following FHP in third place is California Highway Patrol.

This year's competition has been fierce and by far the most engaging according to votes collected in previous years. Last year, Kentucky State Police won first place with 65,169 total votes, followed by Tennesse Highway Patrol with 55,737, California Highway Patrol with 50,534, Georgia State Patrol with 38, 972 and Florida Highway Patrol with 27,543. The total number of votes for all participating states in the 2022 America's Best Looking Cruiser Contest at the competition end was 509,153; this year, with the weekend ahead, the total number of votes collected has almost doubled.
Why the interest this year?
States participating went head-to-head in a series of friendly exchanges via social media creating a competitive environment with the intention of promoting agency pride and a shared public safety mission.

Increased traffic on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and coverage from television, print, and radio outlets have shown a rise in public interest. Residents from competing states have also joined in the friendly fire and provided commentary and remarks, each intending to defend their state's "Best-Looking Cruiser."

The comradery is strong, but so is the effort to win. As the weekend begins agencies will have no idea where they stand or if they will have enough votes to gain the lead and ultimately win the competition.
