3. Electric Power Cost Adjustment Updates
On Tuesday, December 6th, the FPUA Board of Directors voted to increase the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) by $8.00 per 1,000 kWh for December usage. The PCA on your electric bill will be $35 per 1,000 kWh beginning January 1st.
Florida's electric utilities use natural gas to generate over 75% of our electricity because it is reliable, efficient, and a relatively clean fuel source. Fuel is a cost that is passed on to customers as a specific line item on our bills, separate from the base rate, and is called the Power Cost Adjustment. FPUA does not profit from the sale of electricity or any utility service, and the PCA is a pass-through cost of fuel.
As today's natural gas prices continue to be volatile, the FPUA Board and leadership are tracking fuel prices daily and revisiting it at every board meeting. FPUA will continue to focus on ways to keep utility bills affordable for our customers.
Please contact our Customer Service team at 772-466-1600 ext. 3900 if you have any questions about the PCA or to learn about Utility Bill Assistance Programs like Budget Billing and Special Payment Arrangements.
4. The 2023 Power of Giving Campaign
This holiday season, join the power of giving...
Project CARE is a voluntary program that empowers people, businesses, and organizations to help families in our community who have experienced a hardship and are in danger of losing their utility service. The program began in 1998 and has been successful in providing assistance to those in need. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Project CARE participants donated over $5,300 to help those who lost their jobs, became sick, and many other adversities experienced during those tough times. Project CARE is administered through Mustard Seed Ministries, combining education and emergency assistance to empower and educate against continuing financial problems in the future.
