Spring Break 2026 in Fort Lauderdale
The City is taking a proactive approach to ensure a safe, fun Spring season for residents and visitors. We are taking the following actions to ensure minimal disruption to our neighbors:
- Messaging to vacation rental operators to ensure compliance with capacity and noise ordinances
- Increased police presence along the beach and other high-traffic areas throughout the season
- Increased parking enforcement
- Increased enforcement and beach sweep/cleanup each day at 5:30 p.m
- Increased enforcement in entertainment areas
Restrictions:
Effective February 28 through March 31, 2026, the following will be prohibited in the following areas (High Impact Zones):
Barrier Island
- No inflatable devices
- No tents, tables or similar structures
- No live or amplified music
- No alcohol, except from approved hotel vendors
The following additional measures are not currently in place but could be enacted during the High Impact period.
- A curfew for minors (under age 18)
- Suspension of sidewalk cafe permits
- Modification of operating hours for parks and city facilities
Boundaries: The barrier island high impact zone is bounded by Sunrise Boulevard to the north, by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, by Holiday Drive to the south, and by the westernmost bank of the intracoastal waterway to the west.
Downtown
- A curfew will be in effect in the designated area from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. restricting access for minors (under age 18) without the supervision of a parent or guardian to the designated High Impact area.
- No coolers
- Suspension of sidewalk cafe permits
- Modification of operating hours for parks and city facilities
Boundaries: The downtown high impact zone is bounded by Broward Boulevard to the north, by Andrews Avenue to the east, by the southernmost bank of the New River to the south, and by Southwest 7 Avenue to the west.
Parking
The City parking facilities will be open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking on the barrier island is $4 per hour and can be paid via the Pay-By-Phone mobile app or at the pay station with a credit card (select locations accept cash). To avoid receiving a parking citation, make sure that you pay for the amount of time that you need in advance, don’t park in unauthorized spaces, and follow parking regulations. Bars/Businesses
The City will be strictly enforcing the following during Spring Break. Please ensure compliance to avoid fines or further action:
- No alcohol served after 2 a.m. (unless it is permitted through a Special Entertainment District)
- No alcohol served to minors
- Building capacity limits
Code Compliance
Reporting code violations should go through the FixIT FTL app or by calling 954-828-8000. Report things such as:
- Excessive noise coming from entertainment venues
- Accumulation of trash on private property
- Large gatherings at residential properties
