Catch A Florida Memory 10 Year Anniversary!

Dear Catch a Florida Memory Angler,

Thank you for participating in our angler recognition program! This coming year, 2026, will be the 10-year anniversary of Catch a Florida Memory, and we’ll be celebrating with some updates based on feedback from our annual surveys as well as some new challenges to sweeten the deal. We want you to be the first to know about all the exciting changes we have starting January 1st, 2026, to celebrate 10 years of making fishing memories with you!

Life List - We’ll be increasing the number of species on the Saltwater Life List from 70 to 75 by adding Atlantic croaker, Atlantic spadefish, northern kingfish, palometa and yellowjack. 

Reel Big Fish - We’re reducing the lengths of 8 qualifying species. See the table below for species changes.

Grand Slams - We’re updating several of our grand slams:

• NEW! Southern Inshore Grand Slam- Snook, spotted seatrout and red drum
• UPDATED! Nearshore Grand Slam – Cobia, king mackerel and barracuda
• UPDATED! Bay and Estuary Grand Slam – Bluefish, Spanish mackerel, ladyfish
• UPDATED! Reefs and Rubble Grand Slam – Gag, Gray (mangrove) snapper, triggerfish
• UPDATED! Small Fry Grand Slam (for youth 15 and under) – Pinfish, catfish and grunt or drum species.

We’ll also be rolling out some new challenges to celebrate 10 years of you rising to the occasion!

Veterans Challenge - Open exclusively to our active and retired military anglers, eligible participants will earn a challenge coin and hat, in addition to our traditional prize package while also earning points for your service branch.

Secret Fish Sponsored by Mustad - Diversify your catches and luck into the quarterly secret fish to win a bonus prize. …The first hint, each of these four fish will be from our Life List. Even if a species has already been added to your Life List, feel free to submit it again, it might earn you an extra cool prize.  Fish must be caught and submitted in the qualifying quarter to be eligible. Only one secret fish per person per quarter will be issued. Be on the lookout for our newsletter or follow us on social media for a hint at the start of each quarter.

Photo of the Year - Find your lighting and use your best fish handling for a chance to be featured in our Saltwater Regulations.  Catch a Florida Memory participants will vote for their favorite finalists at the beginning of 2027.

Triple Threat Throwdown – The Throwdown is back for another year and you could be the big winner of a Bonafide kayak and fishing package. All you need to do is be a member of the Triple Threat Club and earn qualifying achievements during the contest period. The more achievements you earn during the contest period, the more chances you have to win!
