Beginning with the 2025-26 hunting season, there are several changes that will impact limited entry/quota applications and permits:
- Individuals will be able apply for a preference point during phase 1 of the quota application process instead of being required to select from available hunt options.
- When individuals return a quota permit, they will only receive the number of preference points they had prior to applying rather than the number of preference points they had plus one.
- Individuals who return a quota permit they obtained in phase 1 will no longer be able to apply for that same hunt in phase 4 reissues.
- Any permits that can be returned will not be available for printing or display in the mobile app until 10 days before the hunt start date.
- Individuals who do not apply for a given quota hunt type during phase 1 for a period of 5 consecutive years (previously 2 consecutive years) will forfeit all their preference points for that quota hunt type.
- The issuance of Quota – Spring Turkey permits will be limited so that only 10% of permits are issued to non-residents.
Thank you for your continued support of hunting in Florida.
