Dear Statewide Alligator Harvest Permit Holder,
The devastation produced by hurricanes Helene and Milton has impacted many areas of the state. While efforts to recover homes and businesses damaged by the hurricanes are ongoing, high water levels have prevented access to many boat ramps and alligator harvest units.
We understand the opportunity to participate in the statewide alligator hunt is important. To address these impactful circumstances, we have issued Executive Order 24-29 that extends the 2024 harvest season for those who possess unused CITES tags and meet the FWC’s criteria related to hunting or residing in a hurricane-impacted area.
Impacted Counties
Permit holders who still possess unused CITES tags for the AMUs that are wholly or partially in the following counties may continue to hunt from Nov. 9 until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 24. Additionally, those who were issued a 2024 statewide alligator harvest permit for any AMU and who reside in the following counties may also continue to hunt from Nov. 9 until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 24.

Guidelines and Requirements
The hurricane-based extended alligator harvest season does not override any orders closing or limiting public access to these areas. In addition, all other rules associated with the statewide alligator harvest remain in effect.
If you would like to participate in this extended harvest season, print Executive Order 24-29 and attach it to your Alligator Trapping License or Statewide Alligator Harvest Permit before you go on the water.
