FWC Redfish (Red Drum) discussion and public workshops

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

(Having trouble viewing this email? View it as a Web page.)

Good afternoon,

You are receiving this email because you have a recreational saltwater fishing license and may have an interest in Florida’s redfish (red drum) fishery. At the FWC Commission meeting on May 4, 2022, Commissioners approved publication of proposed rule changes for redfish. Information on the Commission meeting and materials can be found on the Commission meeting webpage.

FWC is hosting several in-person public workshops to gather input on the proposed changes beginning June 1. The goal of these workshops is to gather feedback from stakeholders before the Final Rule Hearing, which is scheduled for July.

All workshops will begin at 6 p.m. local time; dates and locations can be found at Marine Fisheries Workshops | FWC (myfwc.com).

If you are unable to attend a workshop, you can use the same link to view a video of the workshop presentation when it is available. You can submit comments online at Saltwater Public Comments | FWC (myfwc.com).

If you have any questions or need additional information, please reach out to 850-487-0554 or Marine@MyFWC.com.

Sincerely,

FWC Division of Marine Fisheries Management
