Important Information Regarding Charter Licenses

The health and safety of Floridians, visitors, and our employees is a top priority for us. As COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to impact our communities, we’re taking proactive measures to protect stakeholders, staff, and volunteers.

The FWC has issued Executive Order 20-12 to extend the expiration date of all Charter Captain and Charter Boat licenses and permits to minimize exposure to COVID-19 while allowing for the continued and critical operations of Florida businesses. This order amends Executive Order 20-08, which previously extended the expiration date of Charter Licenses.

Any Charter license and permit expiring in March, April, and May 2020 will remain valid until May 31, 2020, unless extended by a subsequent order.

Please note that this extended expiration date is separate from the extension for the U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Credentials.

The FWC continues to be in close communication with the Governor’s Office, the Florida Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) regarding the most recent COVID-19 status and guidance. For questions related to COVID-19 in Florida, visit FloridaHealthCovid19.gov or contact the Department of Health’s dedicated COVID-19 Call Center by calling 866-779-6121 or emailing COVID-19@flhealth.gov.

For any question on this Executive Order, or the Charter license renewal process, please contact the Office of Licensing and Permitting at:
