FWC reminds boaters and anglers that ample opportunities remain available on Lake Okeechobee
Boating and fishing opportunities are available on Lake Okeechobee, despite lock restrictions announced by the South Florida Water Management District.
While receding Lake Okeechobee water levels may trigger lock restrictions that will impact some boaters, boat ramps at C. Scott Driver Park (Okeechobee), Alvin L. Ward, Sr. Memorial Public Park (Moore Haven), Clewiston City Marina and Boat Ramp (Clewiston), Harney Pond Canal (Margaret Van de Velde Park), Torry Island (Belle Glade) and others will continue to provide abundant access to excellent fishing and boating opportunities on Lake Okeechobee.
As always, boaters should exercise caution and wear life jackets.
For more information about boat ramps visit FWC’s Boat Ramp Finder. Additional information on Lake Okeechobee is available at MyFWC.com.
