Message from FWC: End of the 2016 alligator hunting season

Tuesday, Nov. 1 marked the closing of the 2016 alligator hunting season. We hope you experienced safe and exciting hunts, and that you are looking forward to applying for alligator harvest permits again next year. Please remember that to ensure you qualify to apply for a permit next year, you must submit your alligator harvest reports and/or return any unused CITES tags to the FWC by November 15th, 2016.

The best way to submit your harvest reports, or to check on the status of your returned tags or harvest reports, is by using our online CITES Tag Reporting System. This system is easy to use, will save you postage, and will provide you with confirmation that your harvest reports have been received. To access your records, you will need your FWC Customer ID number and date of birth. Your ID number is printed on the upper left side of your Alligator Trapping License, (and can also be found on your hunting and fishing licenses).

If you’d rather submit paper forms and/or if you have any unused CITES tags to return, they must be mailed to the address below. Please be sure to return unused CITES tags in a padded or cardboard envelope to prevent loss during shipping. You also might consider using a tracking mail service when returning paper forms and/or unused CITES tags. We do not have online reporting for unused CITES tags – unused tags must be returned to the FWC.
