Orange Lake Habitat Management Plan needs stakeholder involvement, input
Residents, business owners and everyone who has interest in the Orange Lake Habitat Management Plan Stakeholder Process, are welcome and encouraged to attend the Oct. 13 meeting from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Grand Lake RV and Golf Resort, located off Highway 318 just east of I-75 next to the Ocala Jai Alai in Citra.
The Habitat Management Plan is a document that will be guiding the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) management actions at Orange Lake over the next five years. This will be the second of four public meetings being held as part of HMP development. The primary purpose of this meeting is to develop goals and objectives for future habitat management activities within the lake. Information relevant to habitat management issues will also be presented.
This meeting will be facilitated by Normandeau Associates, Inc. (Gainesville), who are assisting the FWC in collecting stakeholder input and writing the plan.
Subsequent meetings will take place as the Habitat Management Plan progresses, to get stakeholder input regarding specific Orange Lake management goals and objectives, as well as management actions.
