What do Mr. Beast, Spider-Man, Roblox, and A Minecraft Movie have in common? They were all voted favorites during Bring Your Kid To Work Day 2026! We had 121 future voters participate in this year's election.
Bring A Kid To Work Day is an annual event for county employees and their children to explore, learn, and experience local government in action. Activities highlighted hands‑on learning, creativity, and community engagement.
Flagler County Fire Rescue, 911/Dispatch, Land Management, Public Works, Engineering, Innovation Technology, Library, Health & Human Services, UF/IFAS Extension, along with the Clerk of the Court and Comptroller, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Sheriff's Office, Flagler Schools, and our office all participated for the fourth year in a row.
Thanks to everyone who helped coordinate the details and provided activities for the children!

The year 2026 is significant as it will be an election year and also the 250th anniversary of the United States. On July 4, 2026, our nation will commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This milestone presents a pivotal moment to honor the founding of our nation.
Locally, we have an important midterm election ahead. Federal, state, county and city offices will be on the ballot this year. We have many new residents in Flagler County who will need to learn about our government in Florida, and our local offices. Some of our long-time residents could use a refresher about what will be on the ballot, and how important these offices are, and how they impact our community.
Our Primary Election will be the most important election this year. Historically, and across Florida, we have low turnout in Primaries. The 2024 Primary turnout was 29.3%. Many people do not know that even if they don't declare a party affiliation, they can still vote for the local nonpartisan races. Even turnout among registered Republicans an Democrats was low.
2024 Primary Turnout
Eligible Voters: 93,969 Ballots Cast: 27,470
Republican 34.8% Democratic 33.7% NPA / Other 14.4%
This year, we should change that trend. This is the 250th anniversary of our nation, and every voter should use their voice during the Primary. Tell your family, friends, and neighbors they can make a difference by VOTING in AUGUST this year. Not only November. The elections begin in AUGUST. We can do better than 29% turnout and we should!

Congratulations to the winner of our 16th Annual 2026 Voter's Guide Cover Design Contest! 🥇Jacoby Hurry of Flagler Palm Coast High School
Members of the Flagler County School Board cast their votes for the best design submission during their workshop meeting in February. Jacoby was recognized during the Student Spotlight portion of the School Board meeting on March 25 at the Government Services Building in Bunnell.
The Voter’s Guide Cover Design Contest is an annual contest held in partnership between the Elections Office and the school district to provide high school students with an opportunity to gain experience working on a real-world design project while teachers engage them in a discussion about the importance of the electoral process and civic duty.
The Voter Guides are very popular in our office, and we offer them to voters who visit the office and always bring plenty to pass out during special events and voter outreach programs.
Thank you to both digital design teachers at Matanzas and FPC for making this contest part of your curriculum and providing your students with the opportunity!
The office renovation project is moving along! Our lobby is almost complete. After the new entrance is open, we will finish the early voting and poll worker training room.
Don't worry! We are still open and ready to serve you.
