City Commission Bans Motorized Watercraft From Launching on Dunedin Causeway
The Dunedin City Commission voted unanimously, 5-0, at its September 3 meeting to adopt an ordinance prohibiting the launching of motorized watercraft on the south side of the Dunedin Causeway.
The ordinance passed its second and final reading after the City Commission voted 4-0 to move it forward at the first public hearing on Thursday, July 23, following public input.
The ordinance only prohibits the launching of motorized watercraft from the south side of the Causeway and will not affect the operation of motorized watercraft in the Intracoastal Waterway or St. Joseph Sound. The launching of motorized vessels is already prohibited on the north side of the Causeway, west of the drawbridge.

Dunedin Marina Restoration Work Moves Forward
Restoration work at the Dunedin Marina continues to move forward, with demolition of the above-water portion of the old pier now complete. Piling removal and construction of the new pier will begin once the required permit is received from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Work also continues on seawall repairs throughout the marina. Fill material has been added to the collapsed area along the bulkhead and installation of the rebar racks for the seawall cap is underway.
The city is following all steps required by state and federal regulations to remain eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency reimbursement. This will help reduce the financial impact on Dunedin taxpayers while restoring a vital community asset.
Find more information on this and other City projects on the newly launched Engage Dunedin page, where you can register to receive updates and provide feedback.

-
Defend by using insect repellent containing a CDC-recommended ingredient, such as DEET, picaridin, IR3535 or oil of lemon eucalyptus.
-
Dump or cover standing water around homes and businesses, including water collected in containers and rain debris.
