SWFWMD Phase 3 Water Restrictions Extended Through October 1
The Phase 3 water shortage declared by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has been extended through October 1. As a result, Dunedin water customers are limited to four hours of potable water irrigation on their assigned day.
During this time, noncommercial car washing at home is also limited to your designated lawn watering day and must be done using a hose equipped with a shutoff nozzle. Aesthetic fountain use is limited to four hours per day and homeowners associations may not enforce deed restrictions or other community standards that require increased water use.
While the SWFWMD Phase 3 water restrictions apply to potable water use, they do not affect reclaimed water use for Dunedin customers, though reclaimed water users are reminded no watering on Wednesdays. The City will continue to monitor the situation and keep residents informed of updates from the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
