Get the Facts: Attend a Dunedin Property Tax Forum
The City of Dunedin will host Property Tax Information Forums Tuesday, April 14, and Wednesday, April 22, both at Dunedin City Hall starting at 6 p.m.
With potential changes to Florida’s property tax system, these public Forums are intended to help residents understand how property taxes work, what they fund, and why these local revenues are essential to maintaining the community’s high quality of life.
The Forums will feature a panel of speakers including City staff, and local/regional experts providing information, insights, and possible impacts from these proposed property tax changes. The Forums will include opportunities for questions and answers.

Pipe Band & Clan March Road Closures
The annual Dunedin Highland Games & Festival will kick off Friday, April 10, with a celebration at Pioneer Park at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Pipe Band & Clan March at 6:30 p.m.
Drivers should expect road closures that day, including Main Street from Douglas Avenue to Park Street from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes.

Construction Moves Forward at Grand Oak Park
Construction is moving forward at Grand Oak Park, with crews working to move electric lines underground and install foundation supports for the brick seating walls.
The park is located at the site of the former City Hall on Main Street. Its design will preserve the grand oaks on the property, while incorporating seating, lighting and restrooms into the new downtown green space.

Dunedin’s Nicole Delfino honored with 2026 Home Rule Hero Award
The Florida League of Cities (FLC) recently recognized the City of Dunedin’s Strategy and Sustainability Manager Nicole Delfino with a 2026 Home Rule Hero Award for her advocacy efforts during the legislative session. Delfino, who led the Dunedin delegation to Tallahassee this year, was honored for helping inform state lawmakers of the importance of home rule through insights, data and real-world examples.
“Local voices matter, and during the 2026 Legislative Session, these leaders made sure those voices were heard,” said FLC Chief of Legislative Affairs Casey Cook. “By engaging early, often, and thoughtfully, they helped elevate the municipal perspective and reinforce the importance of local decision-making.”
This is the third year in a row Delfino has been honored with the Home Rule Hero Award. She will be presented with the 2026 award at an upcoming Florida League of Cities meeting.

Pinellas Wind Symphony Concert Set for April 19
The Pinellas Wind Symphony will present a free concert of wind band music Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. at the Dunedin Community Center. Conducted by Dr. Martin H. Seggelke, the performance will feature an advanced-level volunteer ensemble of wind, brass, percussion, string bass, piano and harp musicians.

Registration Open for Youth Basketball League
A cooperative youth basketball league for ages 8 to 17 is now open for registration, offering players an opportunity to develop skills and learn the game in an instructional setting.
The cooperative league includes several North Pinellas cities and is designed for both new and experienced players. The season runs from June 2 through July 25 and will include 10 games played throughout Pinellas County, followed by a single-elimination tournament.
Registration is $85 per child, with a deadline of May 9. Evaluations are set for April 30 and May 7. Click Learn More for additional information or to register online.

An Evening with Best-Selling Author Sarah Penner
The community is invited to an evening with New York Times best-selling author Sarah Penner on Thursday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. Penner is the international best-selling author of three historical novels featuring magic and mystery. Her most recent release, The Amalfi Curse, is described by Booklist as “a mystical page-turner that will leave readers spellbound.” Her books have been translated into more than 40 languages and her debut novel, The Lost Apothecary, has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide.
Sponsored by the Dunedin Public Library Foundation, the event will include an author talk, book signing and refreshments. Books will be available for purchase.
