A contract has been awarded for the demolition of the old pier and construction of a new pier, day docks and emergency docks at the Dunedin Marina. The City Commission approved the award to On-Point Contracting Company, LLC at its January 8 meeting. Demolition is estimated to begin in March, with construction expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
Construction also continues on the north seawall at the Dunedin Marina. The City Commission awarded the repair contract to BDI Marine in July and construction began in October. Repairs to the east seawall are scheduled to follow, with seawall construction expected to be completed in spring 2026.

Debris Clearing Continues Along Dunedin Waterways
The City of Dunedin continues its Channel Debris Clearing Project to remove storm-related debris and vegetation from Curlew Creek, Jerry Branch and Cedar Creek. As of January 11, crews from CrowderGulf Joint Ventures, Inc. have cleared out 299 truckloads of vegetation, equaling nearly 16,000 cubic yards of debris.
As part of the debris-clearing process, crews are not removing unnecessary material along creek banks. Removal areas are limited to designated access points where only enough space is cleared to stage debris for hauling. When clearing those access points, crews focus on invasive and non-native vegetation while avoiding established trees, including oaks and pines.
This project will help restore natural water flow, reduce local flooding risks and support the health of Dunedin’s waterways and surrounding ecosystems.
