City Accepting Applications for Financial Assistance for Nonprofits
The City of Dunedin is now accepting applications for financial assistance for social and cultural nonprofit organizations as part of its 2026 budget. This is an opportunity for organizations that make a difference in the community to receive support for their valuable programs.
To be considered, organizations must submit a letter and required documents to the City’s Finance Department by June 13. The letter should outline how much funding is needed, its intended use, the community needs being addressed, and how the impact will be measured. Organizations that received funding last year should also include a summary of accomplishments.
A special review committee will evaluate all applications and recommend which groups move forward to the next phase of the application process.

The Florida League of Cities has recognized Nicole Delfino, Strategy & Sustainability Manager for the City of Dunedin, with a 2024 Home Rule Hero Award.
The award honors Delfino’s dedication and advocacy during the 2024 Legislative Session, during which she worked to promote local voices and protect the Home Rule powers of Florida’s municipalities.
“The dedication and effort of these local officials who tirelessly advocated for local decision-making was a difference-maker this legislative session,” said Casey Cook, FLC Chief of Legislative Affairs. “On behalf of the League and its legislative team, we’re proud to recognize each of them and thank them for their service.”
Home Rule is the ability of a city to address local problems with local solutions and minimal state interference. Recipients of the Home Rule Hero Award consistently engaged with members of the Legislature, providing local perspectives on important community issues.

Dunedin Marina Update
The City of Dunedin is actively restoring the Dunedin Marina following significant damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
On May 8th, the contracts to purchase and install the Marina shore power pedestals, which house utilities for docked boats, was approved by the city commission. It will take 8-10 weeks to receive the pedestals and installation will begin after they arrive.
The stabilization repairs to Docks A and B will occur this summer. Slip renters will be able to return to the marina for recreational use once their dock slip location repairs have been completed.
More details on this and other active projects in the City of Dunedin are available on the City website.
