Flood Awareness Week
March 3-9 is Flood Awareness Week 2025. The City of Dunedin joins FEMA, the Florida Division of Emergency Management and the Florida Floodplain Managers Association in educating residents on flood risks and prevention measures.
Here are some tips:
- Know your Flood Zone.
- Review your insurance coverage and consider a flood insurance policy even if you’ve never experienced flooding before.
- Prepare your home. Make sure floor drains are clear of obstructions and keep your property free of debris.
- Monitor weather alerts and take warnings seriously.
- Make an evacuation plan now.

Dunedin's Wastewater Facility Wins Award for Excellence
The City of Dunedin Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility has been selected to receive a 2024 Wastewater Plant Operations Excellence Award in recognition of outstanding treatment plant operation, maintenance, and compliance.
The award was presented by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for exemplary operations, including asset management by staff, successful capital improvement projects and compliance through Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.
The ceremony took place on March 4 as part of the DEP's "Focus on Change" seminar.

Bike Month Education and Engagement Event
The City of Dunedin invites you to attend and participate in its Bike Month Education and Engagement Event on Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lari White Pavilion along the Pinellas Trail.
Representatives from FDOT and Forward Pinellas will be on hand as staff gathers community feedback on biking in Dunedin, including infrastructure needs like bike lanes and safety measures. A survey will be available to complete in person or online here.

Big Moves Ahead: Enhancing the City's Multimodal Transportation Plan
The City of Dunedin is updating its Multimodal Transportation Plan (MMTP). The goal of this update is to enhance and expand the current multimodal transportation system, which already supports walkers, bikers, and other alternative transportation users.

Outreach Events Scheduled for Elevate Florida Program
The Florida Division of Emergency Management announces outreach events for its Elevate Florida program, which aims to enhance community resilience by mitigating private residences against natural hazards.
Through the program, eligible homeowners have the opportunity to elevate their homes with up to 75 percent of their costs covered. Other projects, including wind mitigation measures, will also be considered.
Outreach events in Pinellas County will take place on March 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Treasure Island City Hall; on March 13 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Petersburg Sunshine Center; and on March 14 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Clearwater Ross Norton Recreation Center. Staff will be on hand to offer a program overview and application assistance. The application portal is also open online.

 Summer Camp Registration Opens March 12
Get ready for a fun and memorable summer! Dunedin Parks & Recreation offers full-day and half-day summer camps for ages 4-17 from June 2 through August 8. Registration opens Wed, March 12. Camps include Pre-K Camp, Kids Camp, Tweens & Teens Camp, and a variety of Specialty Camps. Browse the for a full list of camp schedules, registration information, and scholarships available.

Last Call for Senior Hall of Fame Nominations
Nomination applications for the Dunedin Senior Hall of Fame are being accepted until March 10.
Each year, the City of Dunedin Committee on Aging inducts new members into the Senior Hall of Fame. This honors and celebrates older residents of Dunedin who have made significant contributions to our community.
If you would like to nominate someone from the Dunedin community, you can pick up an application at the Hale Senior Activity Center or download the application and eligibility requirements online.
