Update on the Dunedin Marina Restoration
The City Commission unanimously approved action items directing staff to move forward on Dunedin Marina restoration efforts.
The commission approved the replacement of all marina shore power pedestals, which house utilities for docked boats. It also approved the staff-recommended stabilization plan for the docks, with June set as the estimated completion date. Afterward, slip renters will be able to return to the marina for recreational use upon completion and approval of an updated User Agreement application.
The next phase of the marina restoration will be the reconstruction of the western bulkhead, with an estimated completion date of early 2026. Future plans to replace Docks A and B with floating docks currently have an estimated completion date of early 2027.
The commission also approved using the City’s existing General Engineering Contracts (GEC) to expedite the design and permitting phase for replacing the fishing pier. This acceleration will, in turn, allow construction of the new fishing pier to begin sooner.

Since then, the Dunedin CRA has been very successful and work continues with new parking planned, streetscape and creation of pocket parks.
