Storm Household & Tree Debris Collection Update
Storm household construction/demolition and tree/vegetative debris collection on local City roads continues making substantial progress. State and County roads within the City of Dunedin are being handled by the State and County. We thank you for your patience.

To date – more than 64,000 cubic yards of debris/1,450 loads has been collected. White goods/e-waste crew Active

A tub grinder is in Highlander Park mulching all the tree debris operating from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. It is expected to be there for 4-5 days.

The second and final pass for household and vegetation debris will begin
November 4. We estimate this will take one week to complete. We encourage residents to “push” any remaining debris not collected on the first pass to the curb. Fence collections will take place with the second pass of household debris.
*****Please do not place wood fencing on tree debris piles. Fencing is treated wood and should be part of household/construction/demolition debris.
Highlander Park – Debris Removal has Begun
Multiple haulers are removing debris from the temporary laydown site at Highlander Park taking it to its final landfill destination.

There are multiple FEMA active contractor crews collecting tree debris in the following zones/neighborhoods:

Substantial Damage Assessments Begin
As a part of our ongoing storm recovery efforts, the City of Dunedin has begun the process of working through assessing damaged structures as a part of FEMA requirements. Starting October 31, you will see contractor teams from Tetra Tech, the firm we have hired to assist us with completing the assessment process within FEMA’s required timelines. Here’s what you can expect as these teams begin their work within our community. Turkey Trot Camp
Are your kids out of school for Thanksgiving break? Dunedin Parks & Recreation is offering a “Turkey Trot Camp” for VPK to 5th graders on Mon-Weds, November 25-27 at the MLK, Jr. Recreation Center. Kids will enjoy an amazing, fun experience with games, outdoor and indoor activities, creating arts and crafts, and spending time with friends! Register early, space is limited! If you register after November 20th, an additional $20 will be added to the fee. Register online or in person at the MLK Rec Center or Dunedin Community Center. Skyway Bridge Documentary
Don't miss this special viewing of The Skyway Bridge Disaster documentary on Monday, November 4 at 5:30 p.m., at the Dunedin Public Library, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dunedin North. There will also be a Q&A with diver Robert Raiola, who was on the scene during the tragic collision of the M/V Summit Venture with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on May 9, 1980. Don’t miss this chance to hear first-hand insights into one of maritime history's most shocking events.

Protect Your Home with the City of Dunedin's Resiliency and Sustainability Rebate Program
The City of Dunedin has developed the Resiliency and Sustainability Rebate Program to help residents and business owners invest in resiliency improvements. The program contains funding for the rebate of eligible building permit fees related to specific resiliency activities and projects. Additional funding is also available to support improvements and/or projects that do not require a permit. Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and the City reserves the right to prioritize requests for vulnerable geographic areas/neighborhoods.

FDOT Skinner Improvement Lane Closures
This week work commenced on the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Skinner Completes Streets Improvement Project. The outside (right) westbound lane is closed on SR 580 (Skinner Boulevard) from the Pinellas Trail to east of Highland Avenue/Martin Luther King, to allow for sidewalk work to on the north side of Skinner. There will be lane closures through early 2025.The project timeline has been established through Winter/Spring 2026.

The Downtown Market returns to Pioneer Park
The Dunedin Downtown Market returns to Pioneer Park Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., starting Friday, November 1. The Downtown Market is presented by Tampa Bay Markets and features a variety of local vendors selling fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, breads, honey, crafts, teas, soaps, candles, plants and baked goods.

Election Day Reminders
Early Voting for the November 5, 2024, General Election runs through Nov. 3 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations. And the Dunedin Library is a mail in ballot drop off location.

Healthy Beach Testing
The Department of Health's Healthy Beaches Program will resume on Monday. The program monitors beaches by collecting bi-weekly water samples throughout the year and analyzes them for bacteria. You can track the latest results online here.
