Beware of Rip Currents
This summer, news outlets including CBS News reported 6 Rip-Current Deaths in Florida Over a Two Day Span.
Rip currents are complex, can be dangerous, powerful, fast moving and they can occur at any beach which has breaking waves. Rip currents need breaking waves to form and there are many different kinds of rip currents. Don't place yourself in harm’s way. Lack of skills to identify rip currents is a major safety concern. Knowledge is power that can help you take control of the situation to make the best decisions for your safety. When people can recognize the signs of an operating rip current they can avoid that area in the water.

Duke Energy Begins Downtown Light Pole Replacement
The City of Dunedin is coordinated with Duke Energy to initiate replacement of the existing decorative light poles along some of the downtown and surrounding streets. The existing poles will be removed and replaced with black poles with a similar style glass globe fixture and energy efficient LED lighting.

You can also vote for many of your Dunedin favorites which have been nominated: arts, businesses, restaurants, experiences and places. The last day to cast your votes is August 31 at 11:59 p.m.

New City Project: Land Development Code Update
This project will review the City’s current Land Development Code, which is long, outdated and is often difficult to administer and subject to inconsistent interpretation. The Land Development Code review will include two phases lead by consultants Toole Design in partnership with HDR and Kendig Keast Collaborative. There will be many opportunities for public input.

Jay Walk Sidewalk Mural Public Art Dedication
The City of Dunedin invites you to a Public Art recognition ceremony for the "Jay Walk Sidewalk Mural" by artist Yhali llan on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the TD Ballpark.
There will be a Dunedin Blue Jays game following the ribbon cutting! Tickets can be purchased here or at the box office.

The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce and the City of Dunedin are sponsoring a candidate forum for the November Dunedin municipal elections on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Hale Senior Activity Center, 330 Douglas Avenue. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 6:30 p.m.

Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
Consumers can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during the 2024 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the second exemption for the sales tax holiday will begin August 24 and extend through September 6.
