Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
Consumers can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during the 2024 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. Passed by the Florida Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the sales tax holiday began Saturday, June 1 and extends through Friday, June 14.

Mindfulness & Creativity
The Hale Senior Activity Center is introducing a new program called "Mindfulness & Creativity" every Monday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. This program offers participants a chance to come together and create without limits while also practicing mindfulness. Bring your own materials as all mediums are welcome, such as sketching, painting, crocheting, and journaling. The cost is $3/person or $2 with a Rec Card.

Fertilizer Summer Restrictions
It’s the rainy season, Dunedin! This also means that the annual Fertilizer Summer restrictions are now in effect. According to the Pinellas County Fertilizer Ordinance, the sale and use of lawn and landscape fertilizer with nitrogen and/or phosphorous are prohibited in order to protect Pinellas County waters from harmful algae blooms from June 1 through September 30.

Citizens Academy is Back!
Dunedin Citizens Academy offers residents an “All-Access, Backstage, VIP Pass” to learn about their government and the services delivered. The nine week course is offered from August 20 - October 22, using hands-on activities and lectures to provide participants with insight on how local governments work and the functions of City departments. Applications are being accepted until June 14.

Let's keep our recycling bins clean and effective by disposing of yard debris properly. Check the sticker on your blue bin to learn what is allowed inside. Remember, the Dunedin Solid Waste Division offers manual collection of yard waste and bulk debris once per week on your regular garbage/recycling collection day.
