Commission Nominates Freaney for Vice Mayor
The Dunedin City Commission selected Maureen Freaney to serve as Vice Mayor at the December 5th Commission Work Session. Freaney follows John Tornga who previously served as Vice Mayor. Freaney was elected to the City Commission in November 2016. Each December the Commission selects one of their colleagues to serve as Vice Mayor for the year.

Old Fashioned Christmas & Holiday Parade
The parade kicks off at 4 p.m. along Douglas Avenue with holiday decorated floats, bands, performers, and of course, Santa Claus! Immediately after the parade, downtown Dunedin is transported back in time with old-fashioned Christmas activities, entertainment, and yes even snow, which are spread throughout downtown. All activities are free.

Beltrees St. Community Engagement Workshop
A community engagement workshop will take place on December 11, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at City Hall. The community engagement meeting will focus on community concerns and goals for the corridor and sharing the proposed project approach, educational components related to general safety principles, Complete Streets and Safe System approaches.

Rescheduled - Strategic Planning Community Focus Group Forum II
Community Forum II, rescheduled for January 16, 2024, offers participants the opportunity to review and refine the draft vision, objectives, and recommendations. This builds on input gathered from the resident survey and social media since Forum 1 on Nov. 1, 2023. Attendees actively engage in discussions to test support for these elements and collaboratively prioritize key aspects, contributing to the shaping of the community's future.

Chamber Board Hires New President
After a competitive nationwide search, the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors have selected Julie Ward Bujalski as the Chamber’s new President/CEO effective January 2. 2024.
Bujalski, a Dunedin resident, has served Dunedin as an elected official since 2006. She was elected Mayor in 2014 and her current term ends in November of 2024.
