Tropical Storm Idalia - City Services & Resident Updates
See below a comprehensive list of updates from the City regarding services.

County Notices
- Mandatory Evacuation has been ordered for Zone A and Mobile Homes. More Information
- Check your evacuation zone one of the following ways:
City Facilities
- All City facilities will be closed to the public on 8/28 at 5 p.m.
- All Parks and Recreation facilities will close at 6 p.m. on 8/28
- Bathrooms in all City parks, the Causeway, and Marina will close at 7 a.m. on 8/28
- The Library will close at 8 p.m. on 8/28
- Reopening of City facilities depending on storm and recovery conditions
- All recreation and library programs are cancelled until further notice
- All City facilities that do not have storm rated windows are being shuttered on 8/28
- Power and water will be shut down 8/28 in the afternoon at the Marina. Those who have a vessel at the Marina are encouraged to remove or secure their vessel immediately.
Emergency Operations
- The City Commission has declared a state of emergency.
- A Facebook Live will be convened Tuesday 8/29 at 11:15 a.m.
- Emergency Operations Center will be activated 8/29 at 1 p.m.
- Fire Department Storm Units will be staffed to respond to wires down and other incidents 8/29 at 1 p.m.
- City Leadership are monitoring the storm with county emergency management teams.
Trash & Recycling
- Residential Trash and Recycling is suspended for routes Tuesday (8/29) and Wednesday (8/30). Collections will continue for Commercial customers.
- No yard waste will be collected at this time, do not put out yard waste!
Sandbag Distribution
- Sandbag distribution is happening Monday, August 28 from 9-7 p.m. at 903 Michigan Blvd.
- Additional employees have been sent to help assist with long lines
- Sandbag Distribution available 8/29 from 8 a.m. until noon at 903 Michigan Blvd. pending available supplies and or inclement weather.
Roads & Stormwater Drains
- Road, ditches and stormwater systems have been cleaned of debris.

Water & Wastewater
- Preparing Water & Wastewater facilities with supplies and securing all equipment
- Both plants will have staff on site to monitor the storm
Boards & Committees, Citizens Academy
- All Boards and Committee Meetings are cancelled through the end of the week.
- Citizens Academy Class is cancelled this week.
Construction in Dunedin
- Construction sites and companies with open permits have been notified to secure sites, equipment, and materials for the potential storm.
