Dunedin Spotlight: Ollie, The Do Good Dog
Meet Ollie, the remarkable three-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and his dad, Michael! Together, they are capturing the internet's heart as they embark on an incredible jet ski journey from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati. Their mission is to raise an impressive $5 million for animal rescues. We couldn't be prouder to have such outstanding citizens from Dunedin!

Back to School Open House & Expo
Get ready for school at our Back to School Open House & Expo on Thursday, July 27, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at MLK, Jr. Recreation Center. Parents and kids are welcome! Meet local exhibitors sharing info about before & after school activities, health, nutrition, safety, and finances. Kids can enjoy hands-on activities and games. The first 200 school-aged children will receive a free backpack and school supplies. Free to attend.

Before & After School Programs
Registration is open for our Before & After School Programs. This program is offered for VPK (4 years)-5th Grade students, held on-site at Dunedin Elementary, Garrison-Jones Elementary and San Jose Elementary Schools, and licensed by the Pinellas County Child Care License Program. Program includes a variety of fun and engaging activities, daily snacks, and homework help. We’re also hiring Rec Leaders to work during this program. Apply online

After School Programs - The Power of Play!
Mr. Rogers said “play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood”. While education is undoubtedly an essential element to the development and growth of a child, the power of play should not be diminished - and we are play experts here at Dunedin Parks & Recreation!

Purple Heart Recognition Ceremony & Commemorative Bricks
Join the City of Dunedin on Monday, August 7 at 6 p.m. at Purple Heart Park for a special ceremony as we honor and pay tribute to all Veterans with a special focus on Purple Heart recipients who have earned the military tribute by virtue of their bravery and sacrifice. The Commemorative Brick Program provides a special opportunity to pay tribute to a Purple Heart recipient by donating $100 for an engraved brick to be placed at Purple Heart Park and become a part of the Walk of Honor.

It's now a contender in the 2023 People's Choice competition, honoring the architecture that keeps Florida safe. Show your support by voting online. You can vote as often as you like.
