The Hale Senior Activity Center offers a variety of programs, classes, monthly luncheons, trips, social events, educational seminars, support groups, and services for older adults. Find something new for you or a loved one.

The Hale Senior Activity Center offers a variety of classes for ages 50+ to help keep you moving. From low-medium impact, and classes adaptable for older adults, these exercise and fitness classes are great for all levels and abilities:

Chair Yoga
- Improve your sense of well-being, restore and maintain strength, increase flexibility and range of motion, renew your energy, and decrease pain, blood pressure and cholesterol.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30-10:30 am $5/Rec Card; $6/No Card (per day)

Functional Fitness
- Condition your whole body for real-life activities with real-life movements. Focus on integrating muscles to work together rather than isolating them to work independently. Class includes a dynamic warm-up, total body strengthening, core flexibility and social conditioning. All fitness levels welcome, modifications and variations provided. Instructor: Katherine Janus, PhD; Hearth Match Certified Coach.

Zumba Gold
- Move to the beat at your own speed. This invigorating, Latin-inspired dance-fitness class feels fresh, exhilarating and keeps you in the groove of life. Low-impact moves and chair exercises will be integrated so all levels can enjoy.
Mondays, 10:30-11:30 am Thursdays, 10:15-11:15 am $5/Rec Card; $6/No Card (per day)

Walking Club
- Join this friendly, energetic club and see how fun walking and exercise can be! Walkers meet at the Hale Senior Activity Center and head out to walk along the Pinellas Trail located directly behind the facility.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30 am $5/Rec Card; $8/No Card (annual fee)
Other classes include Chair Volleyball, Intro to Taoist Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Laughter Wellness Gang.
The Hale Senior Activity Center also offers free Health Screenings on Tuesdays for memory, leg veins, blood pressure and hearing.

Monday, April 3 & 10 9:30 am - 12 pm Free to attend Hale Senior Activity Center
This community-based fall risk screening and education program addresses proper footwear, safety at home, good nutrition for bone health and the importance of exercise to prevent falls. The program also includes information on local fitness programs and at-home exercises designed to reduce the risk of falling.
Free to attend thanks to funding from the Administration for Community Living. Space is limited. Call (727) 379-2473 to reserve your spot.
