Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 1 Activation 
Significant Events: Hurricane Michael
 
Meteorological Summary:
  • A cold front will bring some relief to the western Panhandle today, but heat and humidity will continue across the rest of North Florida for one more day.
  • Scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm will develop across North & South Florida this afternoon, but there is no threat of severe weather.
  • A moderate to high risk of rip currents is expected at all Panhandle and Atlantic beaches.
  • A River Flood Warning remains in effect for the Chipola River at Altha. All other rivers are receding.
  • No tropical development is expected across the Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, or Gulf of Mexico over the next five days.
