Plastic Recycling: Know Before You Throw
Recycling plastics can be confusing. While many items are made of plastic, that doesn’t mean they can all be recycled the same way. For example, plastic bags should not be placed in your recycling cart. Instead, they can be reused or taken to participating grocery stores that offer plastic bag recycling.
Plastic bottles and containers, such as laundry detergent and sports drink bottles, can be placed in your Clearwater recycling cart. They must be clean and empty so they don't contaminate other recyclable materials.
Knowing what belongs in your recycling cart helps reduce contamination and ensures recyclable materials are processed properly. When in doubt, throw it out.
