Pinellas County Increases Mosquito Control Following Dengue Fever Alert
 Pinellas County Mosquito Control has increased mosquito surveillance and treatment following a Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County alert confirming two locally acquired cases of dengue fever in the Palm Harbor area. The county is also increasing treatments in response to signs of West Nile virus activity, although no human cases of West Nile virus have been reported in Pinellas County this year.
Residents can help reduce mosquito populations and protect themselves by following the three Ds: Dress, Defend and Dump.
Wear light-colored, long-sleeved clothing, use a CDC-recommended insect repellent and dump or cover standing water around your home. Removing standing water is especially important because mosquitoes that can transmit dengue commonly breed in containers on private property.

Help Shape the Future of Downtown Clearwater’s Cleveland Street District
Aug. 25, 2 to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m.
 The Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency is launching a design initiative to create a vision for the future of downtown's Cleveland Street District.
The city and its design firm will explore opportunities for streetscape improvements, public spaces, landscaping, lighting, public art, branding and other enhancements to improve the downtown experience. Community input will help shape a district that reflects the needs and priorities of residents, businesses, employees and visitors.
The city invites you to attend a design workshop and complete an online survey to help shape the future of downtown Clearwater:

Clearwater Resident Parking Discount
 Qualified city of Clearwater residents can receive 50 percent off paid hourly parking at city-owned parking facilities when paying through the ParkMobile app. The program also waives ParkMobile’s transaction fee for qualified residents.
To receive the discount, residents must register annually through the city of Clearwater Parking System. Visit MyClearwater.com/Parking and select “Parking Permits” and then “Purchase/View Parking Permit.” Choose “Resident Annual Discount Thru ParkMobile,” and complete the registration process.
Applicants will be asked to provide their Florida driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of Clearwater residency. The city will review the application and notify applicants by email when they are approved.

A Picture-Perfect Evening on the Roof

Easy Ways to Pay Your Utility Bill
 Clearwater utility customers have several convenient ways to pay their bills.
Customers can pay online with an electronic check, a credit or debit card, or selected digital payment services. Online accounts also allow customers to set up AutoPay and receive text notifications.
Customers also can pay by direct debit from a checking account, by mail or in person at the Municipal Services Building, 100 S. Myrtle Ave. Automated phone payments are available 24 hours a day at (844) 547-2019, and customers can enroll in Pay by Text.
A $3.07 convenience fee applies to certain electronic, credit and debit card payments. Direct debit and payments made by cash, check or money order do not carry a convenience fee.

Drew Street Utility Project Update
 Clearwater Public Utilities construction on Drew Street has moved west toward Hillcrest Avenue and now includes a portion of North Highland Avenue.
One lane of Drew Street is closed through Hillcrest Avenue, along with northbound Highland Avenue north of Drew Street. Nearby streets remain accessible, though temporary intersection and driveway closures may occur.
Drivers should follow posted detours, use caution and allow extra travel time while work continues.
