Drew Street Utility Project Continues West
Work continues on the Drew Street utility improvement project as crews move west along the corridor, relocating water, reclaimed water and sanitary sewer lines in preparation for future roadway improvements by the Florida Department of Transportation. Construction is expected to continue through March 2027.
Beginning Aug. 3, a westbound lane on Drew Street between Saturn and North Highland avenues shifted to accommodate ongoing work. Temporary side street and intersection closures with signed detours may occur within the work zone. Short-term driveway access impacts are also possible, although crews will work to minimize disruptions.
As work progresses, motorists can expect periodic westbound lane closures, temporary side street closures and intermittent driveway access changes. Please use caution in work zones, follow posted detours and allow extra travel time.

Prepare Now for Easier Storm Debris Collection
A little preparation now can make storm cleanup faster and safer if severe weather impacts Clearwater this season. Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the city's storm debris collection guidelines before they're needed, including how to properly separate debris and where to place it for pickup.
If a storm occurs, sort debris into separate piles, such as yard waste, construction materials, appliances and household hazardous waste, and place it at the curb away from mailboxes, utility boxes, fire hydrants and parked vehicles. Properly preparing storm debris helps collection crews work more efficiently and speeds recovery throughout the community.
