The funding will also help reduce repetitive losses to homes and businesses, building on the progress made following hurricanes Helene and Milton, upgrading from temporary pumps to permanent solutions.

Residents Play Key Role in Preparing for Storm Season and Recovery
Clearwater residents can help speed storm recovery efforts by preparing in advance of storm season and by properly sorting debris after severe weather.
Before a storm, residents should secure trash and recycling containers and avoid placing yard waste at the curb, where it can become a hazard in high winds. After a storm, debris should be separated into categories such as yard waste, construction materials and appliances, and placed at the curb in accessible areas away from obstacles.
Proper preparation and placement help city crews collect debris more efficiently and support a faster, safer recovery for the community.

Tarpon Tags Support Water Quality Initiatives
Residents can now “adopt” a storm drain in city neighborhoods through the Adopt-a-Drain program and help keep it clear of leaves, trash and debris. Only rain down the drain!
This program is made possible by Bay Mini Grants and stormwater outreach and education funding. The Bay Mini-Grant is made possible through sales of the Tampa Bay Estuary specialty license plate, the Tarpon Tag, which residents can purchase for $17 per year to help fund local water quality projects and support the ongoing recovery of Tampa Bay.
