Skip Fertilizer Before the Rain
Rain can wash fertilizer off lawns and into storm drains, adding excess nutrients to lakes, bays and coastal waters. Use fertilizer sparingly, and avoid fertilizing before a rainstorm. Follow Pinellas County’s fertilizer ban when it is in season, from June 1 to Sept. 30.
