 The Southwest Florida Water Management District has issued a Modified Phase III (Extreme) Water Shortage effective April 3, which impacts Clearwater's utility customers.
Lawn irrigation remains limited to once per week. Those with even-numbered addresses (or A-M) may water on Wednesdays, and those with odd-numbered addresses (or N-Z), mixed or no street address may water on Thursdays.
Irrigation is permitted only between the hours of 12:01 and 4 a.m. or 8 and 11:59 p.m. Properties less than one acre may use only one watering window. All customers must comply with these restrictions.
The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival Opens March 27!
 The Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival officially opens this Friday, March 27, at Clearwater Beach. This year’s theme, "United in Sand: Celebrating Sports & Spirit," will be showcased throughout the event.
The festival runs through April 12, at Pier 60 Park and features a 17-day beachside celebration, highlighting Clearwater’s world-famous sugar sand. Enjoy a stunning walk-through exhibit of sand sculptures created by master artists using 1,000 tons of sand, along with live music, free activities, artisans, fireworks, food vendors and more for all ages.

Salsa and Bachata at the District returns to downtown Clearwater March 28 from 6 to 11 p.m., bringing an evening of music, dancing and community to Cleveland Street.
Held monthly on the last Saturday of the month, this free event invites residents and visitors to enjoy high-energy salsa and bachata dancing in the heart of downtown.
Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just getting started, the event offers a welcoming atmosphere for all skill levels, with lively music, an open-air dance floor and a vibrant community gathering in the District.
Neighborhoods Day Is This Weekend!
March 28, various times and neighborhood block parties
 Clearwater’s Neighborhoods Day is March 28 and brings the city together with 36 parties happening simultaneously across different neighborhoods. These gatherings bring together neighbors and strengthen the sense of community across Clearwater. Representatives from many city departments as well as the city council, mayor and city administration will attend parties across the city to engage with residents and answer questions.

Clearwater Celebrates Opening of New Affordable Housing Community
 The grand opening of the Clearwater Gardens Apartments was held March 24, marking a significant milestone in expanding affordable housing opportunities in Clearwater.
Located on Cleveland Street, this new four-story community features more than 80 apartment homes designed for residents earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income. The development helps address a critical need for attainable housing while supporting long-term community stability.
Clearwater Gardens is the result of a public-private partnership supported by the Clearwater Community Redevelopment Agency and city housing programs, transforming the site into a modern, sustainable residential community.

 Experience art in a natural setting with "Drawing Life" at Moccasin Lake Nature Park from 1 to 3 p.m. March 27.
Participants will draw from live subjects while exploring the park’s scenery, shaded trails, wildlife habitats and a peaceful, wooded landscape. This program offers an opportunity to build observation and drawing skills while connecting with nature.

Join the Community Development Board
 The city is looking for residents to apply to be on the city’s Community Development Board, which meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. The board handles planning and development matters, conducts public hearings and decides development requests that are not within the discretion of city staff. They also conduct design review, evaluate historic applications, review requests for land use plan changes and rezonings, serves as the Local Planning Agency to review and advise the Clearwater Council regarding the city’s Comprehensive Plan.
Applicants should have a professional background in the following areas: architecture, landscape architecture or engineering. They also need to be a registered voter within Clearwater city limits. Members are required to file a Statement of Financial Interests form annually.

Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Giveaway
April 25, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1650 N. Arcturas Ave.
 The annual tree giveaway celebration takes place Saturday, April 25, at the Public Works Complex, 1650 N. Arcturas Ave., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. To get your two free trees, you must live in Clearwater city limits. Proof of residency is required.
