Tour One of Our Water Plants to Celebrate 'World Water Day'
Curious about where your tap water comes from?
The city of Clearwater invites residents to go behind the scenes during guided tours of Reverse-Osmosis Water Treatment Plant #2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, in celebration of World Water Day.
Visitors will get a first-hand look at how the reverse-osmosis process turns raw water into safe, reliable drinking water for homes and businesses across the city. Staff from Clearwater Public Utilities will lead 30 to 45 minute tours, answer questions and share how the city treats about 11.5 million gallons of water each day for roughly 34,000 accounts. Attendees should wear flat, closed-toe shoes; strollers are not permitted on the tour path.
The plant is located at 21133 U.S. 19 on the northbound frontage road to U.S. 19 just north of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.
