Electronic Waste Disposal in Clearwater
Have an old TV or electronic device to get rid of? Here’s what to do:
If You Have a TV WITHOUT Rechargeable Batteries
Place electronics inside your black barrel trash can — not on the ground. Apartment and condo residents may use their city of Clearwater dumpster. If an item is too large to fit in your bin, call (727) 562-4920 for a special pickup.
If You Have a TV WITH Rechargeable Batteries
If possible, remove the battery and throw away the device separately. If the battery cannot be removed, take the item to a drop-off location using Pinellas County’s “Where Does It Go?” search tool.
Do not place items with rechargeable batteries in trash or recycling bins — they can cause fires in collection trucks.
Residents of Pinellas County can also recycle, donate, or reuse working electronics through local programs.

Stormwater Tip: Say No to Stormwater Poo-llution!
Pet waste is more than a nuisance. It’s a significant source of harmful bacteria in urban stormwater. When left on the ground, it can wash into storm drains and waterways, contributing to algae blooms that threaten public health, damage ecosystems, and harm wildlife.
Please always pick up after your pet (even in your own yard) and dispose of waste properly by bagging it for the trash or flushing it down the toilet so it can be safely treated.

North Greenwood Library Unveils New Community Mural

A new mural now brightens the exterior of the North Greenwood Library, transforming the building into a colorful landmark that reflects the neighborhood’s history, cultural identity and connection to reading. The project was commissioned through the city of Clearwater’s public art initiative and funded by a donation from the Clark-Turner Trust to the Clearwater Public Library System.
Created by regional muralist Ashley Cassen, the design centers on the idea that reading opens doors to exploration, imagination and opportunity. The mural incorporates references to North Greenwood’s history, including Christine Wigfall-Morris, Clearwater’s first African American librarian, and honors the library’s longstanding role as a place of learning and community connection.
