The Old Coachman Road Bridge Is Back and Better Than Ever
Construction is now complete on the Old Coachman Road Bridge, which was originally built 100 years ago in 1925. Pinellas County construction crews improved drainage and expanded the Alligator Creek waterway, where it flows through the new bridge. They also raised the bridge deck to provide more clearance, protecting the bridge and its approaches from being overtopped in storms.
The new bridge is bigger, stronger and safer for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. This project was completed with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, impact fees and the Penny for Pinellas.
