Get In-Person Help Applying for Hurricane Recovery Assistance
If you need help applying for the People First Hurricane Recovery Programs but can't make it to the main help centers, staff will be visiting city buildings, community centers and libraries for one-day events each week. Case workers will be on hand at these pop-up sites to review documents, answer questions and help you submit your application for one of the five recovery programs.
Note: if you already submitted an application, a case manager will reach out directly to provide a status update. Staff at these locations will not be able to give you that information.
Visit the county's website for a full calendar of pop-up locations and dates. More dates will be added in the coming weeks.
You can also visit the regular People First Help Centers Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the north county location at 2600 McCormick Drive, Suite 100, Clearwater, or south county location at 5000 Park Street N, Suite 4, St. Petersburg.

Achieva Clearwater Turkey Trot is Nov. 27
One of Tampa Bay’s most anticipated holiday traditions, the 2025 Achieva Clearwater Turkey Trot, will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 27, starting along Keene Road and ending at Clearwater High School. Participants of all ages and abilities can choose from three signature race options:
- Achieva Timed Competitive 5K — 7 a.m., for more competitive runners
- FrankCrum Family Fun Run 5K — 8 a.m.
- Abe’s Place 1-Mile Drum Run — 9 a.m.
The FrankCrum Family Fun Run and Abe's Place 1-Mile Drum Run events offer options to bring strollers and leashed, well-behaved dogs. They also offer more of a relaxed experience than that of the timed 5K run.
Beyond the starting line, families can expect a morning packed with live music, a spirited costume contest, and a pre-race party full of games, food and entertainment.
Achieva Pre-Trot Community Celebration, Nov. 26
The Achieva Pre-Trot Community Celebration will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at BayCare Ballpark, 601 N. Old Coachman Rd. This event is when race participants will pick up race packets and t-shirts.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors for an evening packed with fun that will include:
- Live music from North 2 South
- Appearances by Tampa Bay radio personalities and local sports mascots
- Activities for the kids
- Food, drinks, and more!
One of the best ways to serve others happens around the holidays. Bring a new pair of socks to the event for donation to the Clearwater Homeless Empowerment Program. Achieva will match every donation to help local veterans and families in need.
