Sept. 22, 2025
Water Maintenance Program Begins
The method of water treatment used by Pinellas County Utilities and the city of Clearwater is being temporarily modified from Sept. 22 to Oct. 11. This short-term change from chloramines to chlorine disinfection is a routine maintenance measure designed to maintain system integrity. Those impacted include Pinellas County Utilities customers as well as city of Clearwater customers.
Kidney dialysis patients should not be impacted, but they should contact their dialysis care provider for more information about chlorine treatment. Fish owners should not be affected if they already have a system in place to remove chloramines, but they should contact local pet suppliers with any questions.

Upcoming Events
Turkey Trot Registration Now Live
For more than four decades, the Turkey Trot has been the heartbeat of Thanksgiving morning in Clearwater, drawing thousands of runners, walkers and families who kick off the holiday with a community celebration before heading home to their feasts.
With Achieva Credit Union stepping in as the presenting partner, the event is keeping its rich tradition alive while adding even more festive fun for participants of all ages.
Participants of all ages and abilities can choose from three signature race options:
- 5K Timed Run: 7 a.m. start, for the more competitive runners
- 5K Fun Run: 8 a.m. start
- 1-Mile Gobbler Run: 9 a.m. start
The 5K Fun Run and 1-Mile options offer options to bring strollers and leashed well-behaved dogs, and offer more of a relaxed experience than that of the timed, 5K run.
Beyond the starting line, families can expect a morning packed with live music, a spirited costume contest, and a pre-race party full of games, food and entertainment.

Get Your Property Storm Ready
Clearwater residents play a vital role in keeping our city safe and ready during hurricane season. In the case of an approaching storm:
-
Avoid trimming trees or branches. Freshly cut debris can become hazardous in high winds and may not be collected in time.
-
Secure your bins. Place your black solid waste barrel and blue recycling bin in a garage or shed if possible, so they don’t tip, float away, or become projectiles.
-
Secure commercial dumpsters. Secure on-site dumpsters to prevent them from shifting or washing away.
Taking these steps in the event of a storm helps protect your property, your neighbors, and our solid waste crews as they prepare for severe weather.

Residents have shared that the back of the Giving Wall’s blank concrete wall feels unfinished, and they would like to see it transformed with public art. After sharing the design idea with the neighborhood association, we’re now inviting you to help shape a mural that reflects the spirit of both park visitors and the surrounding community.
