PSTA Breaks Ground on Downtown Clearwater Transit Center
In partnership with the city of Clearwater, Pinellas County, the Florida Department of Transportation, CSX, and with support from other organizations, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) broke ground on a new state-of-the-art, sustainable transit center.
Located at 710 Court St., the new Clearwater Station will replace the outdated and over-capacity Park Street Terminal currently serving downtown Clearwater. Adjacent to the new City Hall and the Pinellas Trail, the facility will feature solar panels, EV charging infrastructure, energy-efficient lighting, real-time arrival information, and improved access to bike/scooter share and ride-hailing services. Plans also include covered bike racks, public art, and space for small-scale retail or a coffee shop.
Mayor Bruce Rector, Councilmember David Allbritton, and representatives from PSTA and Pinellas County spoke at the ceremony. The project is scheduled for completion by winter 2026.
