Give Your Waste & Recycling Workers a High-Five
Give your Clearwater waste and recycling team a big high-five for National Waste and Recycling Workers Week. Our city values this important sanitation team.
In addition to the hard work these employees do every day to collect and manage our community's trash and recycling, they also worked many long days last year to help restore our city after the hurricanes. We couldn’t keep our city bright and beautiful without this vital team.

City Releases Water Quality Report
Each year, the city’s Public Utilities Department presents residents with important information about the city’s drinking water quality in an annual consumer confidence report. For 2024, the city of Clearwater met and exceeded all state and federal drinking water standards.
As part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s “Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments,” all water systems throughout the country must publish this annual report. Read it online in English or Spanish.

Take The Bite Out Of Mosquito
As mosquito season is on the horizon, you can keep you and your family safe by using the 3 Ds:
-
Dump or cover standing water.
-
Dress in loose, light-colored long sleeves and pants.
-
Defend by using a CDC-approved repellant such as DEET, picaridin, IR3535 or oil of lemon-eucalyptus.
To further protect yourself from bites and mosquito-borne illnesses, follow these tips:
- Avoid the outdoors during high mosquito-activity times, typically at dawn and dusk.
- Make sure screens are intact and repair any holes.
- Avoid propping open unscreened windows and doors.
Additional tips for keeping these bugs away include dumping standing water once a week, dumping water in pet dishes and bird baths, checking common places water accumulates, and treating or covering what cannot be dumped.
Pinellas County Mosquito Control provides mosquito treatment and prevention services to the entire county, including Clearwater addresses. Their technicians respond to service requests for mosquito treatment and prevention. They also regularly treat known breeding areas by ground and by air.
To request mosquito control service or a community speaker call (727) 464-7503.
