The city of Clearwater and the Clearwater Public Library System celebrate Juneteenth! On Monday, June 16 at 1 p.m., join us at the Countryside Library for a lively and insightful presentation by Dr. Anthony E. Dixon celebrating African-American Freedom Day. This event is free, open to the public and includes refreshments.
Anthony E. Dixon, Ph.D., is a public historian specializing in African American and African Diaspora history and culture. He earned his Ph.D. in history from Indiana University in 2007, focusing on African Diaspora History, and holds a Master’s of Information Science from Florida State University. His earlier studies were completed at Florida A & M University, where he received a Bachelor's (1994) and Master’s degree (2001).
Clearwater libraries will be closed June 19 in celebration of Juneteenth.
The Clearwater Public Library System will have new hours beginning Saturday, June 28.
