Water Maintenance Program Begins Next Week
Pinellas County and Clearwater Public Utilities will temporarily change its water treatment process from May 19 to June 7. During this routine maintenance period, the treatment method will switch from chloramine to chlorine to help maintain the water system’s integrity and quality.
Residents may notice a slight change in the taste or odor of their tap water, but it will remain safe to drink and meets all federal and state standards. This biannual procedure has been in place since the county transitioned from chlorine to chloramine in 2002.
