News & Updates
Pinellas County Grant Funds
Pinellas County has received $813 million in federal storm recovery funds -- the largest allocation in Florida -- to help residents rebuild after recent hurricanes. County leaders want your input on how to best use these funds to assist those most in need.
Funds can help repair homes, provide rental assistance, support small businesses and restore critical infrastructure. The last of three general public input meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. April 24, at Harbor Hall/White Chapel, 1190 Georgia Ave., Palm Harbor.
An online survey is also available to ensure community voices are heard, and is available until April 18. Residents also can text RECOVER to 888777 for updates.
Upcoming Closures
All Clearwater recreation centers and the Countryside Library will be closed Sunday, April 20. Moccasin Lake Nature Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular business hours will resume April 21.
It’s Everyone’s Job to Save Water

April is Water Conservation Month, and it’s important to conserve water all year long. Do your part by turning off the water while brushing your teeth, taking shorter showers, and using reusable water bottles with tap or filtered water, rather than buying it bottled.
You also can save water by finding and fixing common leaks in your home that – left unfixed – can waste lots of water and cost you money. Plant native and drought-tolerant plants in your garden, use soaker hoses and water your plants during proper hours. Follow the city’s watering restrictions, and water your lawn only on your designated watering days.
2025 Business Feedback Survey

Please allow 10 minutes of your time to complete. We thank you for your time and look forward to your responses. Should you have any questions regarding the survey, please reach out to Stephanie Scalos, business retention coordinator, at (727) 444-7157 or stephanie.scalos@myclearwater.com.

Don't Miss Arbor Day & Tree Giveaway, April 26
The city of Clearwater will host its annual Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Giveaway from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26. Take home two free trees and plant them this Earth Month and National Arbor Day. The trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are important in the fight against climate change. As they grow, trees absorb and store carbon emissions that otherwise cause global warming.
In an urban setting such as Clearwater, the shade from trees cools city streets, reduces air pollution, and boosts personal wellbeing and health. Proof of Clearwater residency is required.
Varieties of available trees and shrubs include (while supplies last):
|
Red Maple
|
Pignut Hickory
|
Pecan
|
Sugarberry
|
|
Silver Buttonwood
|
Southern Red Cedar
|
Southern Magnolia

Clearwater Town Hall Meeting, April 29
The Clearwater City Council will host a Town Hall Meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Countryside Library, 2642 Sabal Springs Drive. This will be an opportunity for members of the community to provide public comment to the city council for three minutes on any topic.
The forums are designed to replace the portion of the city council meeting where citizens can be heard on items not on the agenda. The forum will be the same format and is not designed as a back-and-forth discussion. The forum will not be streamed online; only the audio will be recorded and posted on the city’s website after the meeting has concluded.
