New Assistant City Manager Selected
 The city of Clearwater has selected Alfred G. Battle Jr. to be the city’s new assistant city manager and he will join the city team May 5. He will oversee the departments of economic development and housing, community redevelopment agency, planning and development, and the library.
With nearly 30 years of experience in local government, Battle is highly skilled in the functions of community development, redevelopment, and economic development. He has extensive public service experience with past employment at the cities of Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale.

It’s Not Too Late to Join the U.S. Coast Guard 5K Fun Run on March 29
 Get ready to run, or walk, over the beautiful Memorial Causeway Bridge in the U.S. Coast Guard 5K Fun Run. The event will be Saturday, March 29, and spots remain open for the race. Packet pickup starts at 7 a.m., and the race kicks off at 8 a.m. Enjoy music, food, and entertainment, all while supporting a great cause.
 Hot diggity dog! The famous Oscar Mayer Weinermobile is rolling into Clearwater's Sunsets at Pier 60 Park Festival from 5:30-9:30 p.m. this Sunday, March 30. Stop by and snap a pic with this iconic ride, meet the Hotdoggers, and enjoy fun giveaways. (Sorry, no hot dogs—just plenty of smiles!)
The Sunsets at Pier 60 Park Festival happens every night two hours before sunset to two hours after. Pier 60 Park is located at 1 Causeway Blvd. in Clearwater.
Bunny Brunch at the Long Center on April 5
Must register by March 28
 Hop on over and enjoy breakfast and a movie with the Easter Bunny at the Long Center. The event is Saturday, April 5, and attendees must pre-register online by Friday, March 28. It will be a fun-filled morning with delicious breakfast and the movie "Peter Rabbit" (2018, rated PG). The event costs $4 per person with a recreation card and $5 for those without.

Pinellas County Grant Funds

Pinellas County has received $813 million in federal storm recovery funds -- the largest allocation in Florida -- to help residents rebuild after recent hurricanes. County leaders want your input on how to best use these funds to assist those most in need.
Funds can help repair homes, provide rental assistance, support small businesses and restore critical infrastructure. General public input meetings will be held as follows:
- April 7, South County, 6-8 p.m., Lealman Exchange in Ray Neri Room, 5175 45th St. N., St. Petersburg
- April 10, Mid County, 6-8 p.m., Dunedin City Hall in Commission Chambers, 737 Louden Ave., Dunedin
- April 24, North County, 6-8 p.m., Harbor Hall/White Chapel, 1190 Georgia Ave., Palm Harbor
An online survey is also available to ensure community voices are heard. Residents also can text RECOVER to 888777 for updates.

Utility Bill Payment Drop Box Has Moved!
 The utility bill payment drop box has moved from its previous location outside the Municipal Services Building on Park Street, to behind the parking garage at 620 Pierce St. Customers can drop off utility payments paid with a check, but not cash. Cash is accepted only at the Clearwater Gas Services building, 777 Maple St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Pop-Up Permitting Location Closes March 28

The Clearwater Planning & Development Department’s pop-up permitting site located on Clearwater Beach will permanently close at 4 p.m. Friday, March 28.
Contractors and residents can continue to apply for most building permits by visiting the Planning and Development Department, 2741 State Road 580, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
E-Bike Safety & Regulations in Clearwater
 Electric bicycles (e-bikes) are treated the same as traditional bicycles under Florida law (FSS 316.20655), allowing them on roadways, sidewalks and trails unless otherwise restricted. Riders must obey all traffic laws and signals, be mindful of speed, yield to pedestrians and use designated bike lanes when available. Florida law limits e-bike motor assistance to a top speed of 28 mph. Once this speed is reached, the motor should automatically disengage.

North Greenwood Library Closes For Renovations
 The North Greenwood branch of the Clearwater Public Library System will be closed April 14-25 for renovations. During this time, you can borrow and return materials to the Main, Countryside and East Community @ SPC libraries.
