The Big Cleanup Clearwater, Nov. 8-16
 Get excited for Clearwater's largest community-wide cleanup event! This is a family friendly week-long event, where all residents, businesses, visitors and community organizations are encouraged to keep Clearwater clean from bay to beach. This annual volunteer event is brought to you by the city of Clearwater, Keep Pinellas Beautiful, Visit St.Pete/Clearwater, and AMPLIFY Clearwater.
Plays in the Park, Nov. 8
 Join us for "Plays in the Park" at Coachman Park from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 8. Enjoy a theatrical picnic hosted by Clearwater Public Library System. Engage in a lively reading of "The Importance of Being Earnest," by Oscar Wilde, with parts randomly assigned. No acting experience is needed. Bring your own picnic blankets or chairs, and meet at the Main Library's first-floor lobby before venturing to the park (weather permitting).
Registration closes Nov. 7 at 1 p.m.
Clearwater Airpark to Host Open House, Nov. 9

The Clearwater Airpark, 1000 N. Hercules Ave., will host an Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9. Bring the whole family for a fun day of exploring amazing aircraft. Attendees can experience interactive exhibits, family-friendly activities and support a great cause by donating a toy for those in need.
The Clearwater Airpark has partnered with Toys for Tots, a program that provides toys to children in need during the holiday season. Bring a new, unwrapped toy suitable for children of all ages to the open house. For more information, call (727) 325-5957.
Patriot Fest, Nov. 9

Join us for the Clearwater Patriot Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 9, at Coachman Park. Enjoy a day of live music, food and family fun while honoring our veterans. Highlights include the Battle of the Bands featuring Clearwater & Seminole high schools, live military demonstrations, The Market Marie with 150 plus vendors and special financial relief grants and essential resources for veterans impacted by recent hurricanes. This is a free event to attend.
Through charitable contributions received, The Florida Veterans Coalition is offering a $100 grant onsite to those who meet qualifications.
Come out, show your support and celebrate our veterans.
Symphony by the Sea, Nov. 10
 Hear a symphony and enjoy the beautiful view of Clearwater Harbor. The event features film scores, classic favorites such as Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, the Armed Forces Salute in honor of Veterans Day and a patriotic finale. No need to bring a picnic or chairs – the gated venue provides covered seating for 4,000 and local food trucks, concessions and bars. Come early for the free instrument petting zoo, where families can try out instruments. There is no better way to impress a date or spend quality time with the whole family, all conducted by TFO Resident Conductor Chelsea Gallo.
Community Meeting on FEMA 50% Rule, Nov. 16
 The city of Clearwater will host an informational meeting Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. in the Clearwater City Council Chambers, 100 N. Osceola Ave., to discuss the FEMA 50% rule. This rule, important for property owners post-hurricane, affects permitting and reconstruction when substantial damage occurs. City officials will explain how the FEMA 50% rule impacts rebuilding, detail the substantial damage estimating process, and answer any questions from residents and business owners.
This is a valuable opportunity to learn directly from city staff about important regulations that may affect your property after a storm. Don’t miss this chance to stay informed and prepared.
Salsa Y Rumba, Nov. 23-24

After two hurricanes disrupted plans for Rumba en Clearwater (presented by Achieva Credit Union) and Salsa at the District—two major events celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month—the city of Clearwater and Florida Best Promotions are excited to announce that these celebrations will now combine into one epic weekend of Latin music and dance.
Introducing “Salsa y Rumba”, happening from Saturday, Nov. 23, Salsa at the District, to Sunday, Nov. 24, Rumba en Clearwater presented by Achieva Credit Union.
This free event will showcase the vibrant sounds, energy and traditions of Hispanic culture in a day packed with amazing performances and dance classes. On Saturday, salsa will take over Coachman Park with dance classes, live music and performances from local salsa groups. Following on Sunday, attendees can enjoy a variety of live music from local and national Hispanic artists at Coachman Park. Enjoy mouthwatering authentic cuisine from local food vendors all weekend, or dine at one of downtown Clearwater’s restaurants and enjoy delicious dinners and specials.

Sweet Swap

Have leftover Halloween candy? From now until Nov. 7, Clearwater's recreation centers are collecting candy donations for service members overseas. For every pound of candy you donate, you'll get a sweet treat and a chance to win amazing prizes.

Veterans Day Closure
 City of Clearwater offices, libraries and some recreation centers will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. There is no change to trash and recycling pickup on this day. Clearwater would like to thank all veterans here and all over the nation for serving our country.
Watering Restrictions Change to Two Days Per Week
 The water shortage order enacted by the Southwest Florida Water Management District in 2023 has been rescinded. Residents can again water their lawns and landscaping two times per week. Even-numbered addresses (or those ending in A-M) may water on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Odd-numbered addresses (or those ending in N-Z) may water on Thursdays and Sundays.

Clearwater Celebrates Public Art
 A new public art mural has been unveiled at Coachman Park called “Journey of the Hummingbird,” by Mexican artist Edgar Islas Cruz, also known as Tutubixi. This latest addition celebrates Clearwater’s sister city, Ixmiquilpan, Mexico, and is part of the city’s Public Art and Design Program.
The Clearwater Main Library is highlighting the city’s art collection with “Inspiration in the City: Celebrating the Artists Enriching Clearwater’s Public Spaces.” The exhibit, curated by the Clearwater Arts Alliance, features works from local artists such as Nathan Beard, Valorie Vogel, and Don Gialanella, whose public sculptures and murals appear around the city. The exhibit runs through Jan. 8, 2025.
For those looking to explore the artwork in person, the Clearwater Arts Alliance holds monthly public art walks on the third Saturday at 10:30 a.m., starting at the library. Highlights include murals, sculptures and installations around downtown and the Cleveland Street District.

Post-Storm Recovery Updates
Debris Disposal Update and Dashboard
 We have completed vegetative debris pickup for Thursday and Friday's routes and as of Nov. 3, we are working on Monday’s routes, which we anticipate taking three weeks to complete. City crews are more than halfway done picking up vegetative debris from the entire city. After Monday's route is complete, then crews will work on the Tuesday route, which we also anticipate will take three weeks. Thank you for your patience as our crews continue to work hard.

Operation Blue Roof
Deadline Extended to Nov. 14
 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers extended the deadline for their Operation Blue Roof registration through Nov. 14. Residents can find the latest information on events or register at BlueRoof.gov and 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258).
Grant Program to Support Hurricane-Affected Residents
The city of Clearwater is launching the Disaster Assistance Grant program for qualified Clearwater residents who have experienced damages/losses due to hurricanes Helene and/or Milton. Funds in the form of grants up to $20,000 per household will be awarded to eligible recipients, and the grants do not have to be paid back.

Report Issues In Our Waterways
 With assistance from the state of Florida, residents can now report obstructive or unsanitary debris in waterways. The hurricane Helene and Milton Waterway Debris Removal online form allows residents to easily report waterway obstructions, debris, as well as derelict vessels. The form asks for basic contact information, location details, and various debris types.
Examples of types of debris that can be reported are yard waste and vegetative debris, construction and demolition waste, hazardous waste, household goods such as refrigerators or washers/dryers and vehicles or vessels. Residents can also reach out via phone at (850) 366-6007, seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m..

Clearwater Waiving Permit Fees and Operating Pop-Up Permit Site on Clearwater Beach

In the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton, the city of Clearwater is waiving building plan review and permit fees for residents and business owners trying to make repairs after the storms until Friday, Jan. 10. The waiver will be for those customers across the city who are impacted by the recent hurricanes.
The city also operating a pop-up permitting site on the beach that will make it easier for residents and business owners on the Clearwater barrier islands to talk with employees from the Planning and Development Department and begin the permitting process. That site has moved into the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center pool building at 51 Bay Esplanade and is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Contractors and residents can apply for building permits at the pop-up permitting site or at the Municipal Services Building, 100 S. Myrtle Ave., Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Planning and Development Department is located on the second floor. Contractors can also apply for permits online at MyClearwater.com/Permits.

Reclaimed Water is Restored
 Reclaimed water service throughout the city has been fully restored following hurricanes Helene and Milton. If there is an isolated break or interruption in your reclaimed water service, contact Clearwater Public Utilities at (727) 562-4960 or report it at Clearwater Connect at MyClearwater.com.

Clearwater Beach Updates

- The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County has tested Clearwater Beach and Sand Key water quality, and the test results are "Good."
- Clearwater Beach lifeguards are guarding the beach from four lifeguard towers (two north of the pier and two south of the pier) and from their all-terrain vehicles.
- The sand cleaning, sorting and redistribution process is still ongoing and requires a lot of heavy equipment. The current estimate is that crews are 50% done with the sand operation at lot 32 on south Clearwater Beach, and it is expected to take an additional three weeks to complete.
- There is a beach renourishment project taking place between the Wyndham hotel and the Clearwater Jetty. There are no lifeguards in that area and swimming is not advised.
- Swimming under or around Pier 60 is not advised due to a risk of injury from the damaged materials that are hanging into the water.
- Cabana and chairs rentals have resumed this week throughout Clearwater Beach.
- South Gulfview Boulevard is now open to traffic after crews put in extra hours to get the road ready to reopen.

- The eastern half of the Rockaway Parking Lot located at 4 Rockway St.
- The Clearwater Beach Recreation Center Lot located at 51 Bay Esplanade
- The 6 Avalon St. Parking Lot on North Beach
