Be Safe While Trick-Or-Treating

Here are four trick-or-treating tips to keep your Halloween safe and fun:
-
Stay Visible: Be sure your child's costume includes reflective gear or glow sticks, so drivers can easily spot them. Flashlights are also great for keeping everyone seen.
-
Travel in Groups: Make sure kids trick-or-treat in groups or with a responsible adult. Stick to familiar, well-lit neighborhoods and follow the sidewalk whenever possible.
-
Inspect Candy Before Eating: Before enjoying any treats, parents should inspect candy to ensure it's sealed and in original packaging. Discard any suspicious or unwrapped items.
-
Cross Safely: Always use designated crosswalks when crossing the street, and make sure to look both ways before stepping off the curb. Drivers may not always see excited trick-or-treaters!
Stay safe, Clearwater, and have a spooktacular Halloween!
